COSMETIC ENHANCEMENTS

Wrinkles and lines are a natural part of ageing, primarily due to changes in the skin’s connective tissues. Collagen and elastin, two vital proteins abundant in the skin, help maintain its structural integrity and elasticity. As we age, collagen production declines and elastin degrades, reducing skin firmness and elasticity, resulting in wrinkles.
Anti-aging treatments can soften these lines and stall the creation of deeper lines. Commonly requested areas for fine-line wrinkle treatments include around the mouth, nose, eyes, forehead and chin.

Dermal Fillers are an effective non-surgical treatment used to restore or create volume, fullness and definition to the face without the need of invasive surgery

As part of the normal aging process our face will naturally lose fat and bone volume. In addition to this, our skin loses collagen and elasticity causing thinning and skin laxity.

Dermal Filler is a non-surgical treatment that involves injecting filler under the skins surface to volumise, sculpt, contour and correct

Dermal Filler can be injected into the following areas:

  •       Lips
  •       Cheeks
  •       Chin
  •       Jawline
  •       Nasolabial Fold (smile lines)
  •       Marionettes (corners of the mouth)
  •       Tear Troughs (under the eyes)

REJURAN® is a potent and advanced skin rejuvenation injectable treatment, now approved and available in Australia after years of popularity and success in Asia, particularly South Korea.

Made of polynucleotides (PN), REJURAN®'s key active ingredient is extracted DNA fragments derived from wild salmon.

The polynucleotides in REJURAN® provide the building blocks that boost collagen and elastin production in the skin. These are proteins that help maintain skin structure and elasticity.

By delivering the polynucleotides directly into the skin, REJURAN® stimulates the cells that produce collagen, boosting skin hydration, treating fine lines, wrinkles, pores and textural changes, and reducing scarring, including acne scarring.

Sculptra contains a substance called poly-L-lactic acid, which is a Bio-stimulator that is injected under the skin togradually restore collagenproduction. As collagen production is stimulated, the skin starts to regain its structure and volume, therefore we see wrinkles and defects start to gradually correct.

How Many Sculptura Sessions Will I Need?

Sculptra isn’t a single treatment – instant results, kind of fix. Typically, two to four treatment sessions are recommended, spaced about 6 to 8 weeks apart. The number of sessions needed will depend on the severity of the wrinkles or volume loss being treated.

Our body produces collagen gradually, which is why several initial treatments are required. However, the results are typically longer-lasting than other dermal fillers, with improvement of collagen production still being seen 2 years post treatment. Other hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers produce an immediate effect that fades over time.

WHAT AREAS CAN I TREAT?

Sculptra is used to treat larger areas, so is a great option for a full face rejuvenation. While other fillers are great for more targeted areas, such as under eyes, lips and cheeks.

Hay fever, also known as allergic rhinitis, is a common condition that affects millions of people worldwide including 15% of Australians. Symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, itchy eyes, and a runny nose can significantly impact hay fever sufferer’s quality of life, particularly during allergy season. While antihistamines and nasal sprays are commonly used to manage hay fever there is another treatment that is growing in popularity thanks to the incredible results, and that treatment is known as “Haytox”.

Neuromodulators are very well known by the general public for their anti-wrinkle benefit. However, did you know that these medications were originally used by doctors for a wide range of medical treatments before their cosmetic benefit was discovered? It is therefore no surprise that neuromodulators were trialled on such a common condition like hay fever.

How does Haytox work?
The medication targets nerve endings present in the nasal mucosa. By blocking these nerve receptors from responding to allergy causing stimuli we are able to stop the cause of hay fever and allergy symptoms before they even start rather than managing them. Symptoms targeted with haytox are general hay fever symptoms including sneezing, nasal congestion and runny nose.

What to expect during a treatment:
We administer the medication with the use of an atomiser into each nostril. It is pain and needle free thanks to the fact that the medication is easily absorbed through our thin mucosal lining in the nasal passage, much like a nasal spray. There is no downtime following the treatment.

Longevity:
The treatment will begin to take affect over the next 1-2 weeks and generally lasts from 3-6 months and will vary depending on the individual. For those suffering from severe hay fever or allergies a second treatment at 4 weeks is sometimes required and will be assessed case by case. For those suffering from chronic symptoms, it is safe to get this treatment at the required increments all year round, while those with seasonal hay fever may require just one or 2 treatments each season.

Risks:
This treatment is extremely low risk due to it being non-invasive. Some people experience provoked hay fever symptoms for around 10 minutes following the treatment. The other main risk is the need for retreatment 4 weeks post the first treatment if the first treatment is not effective enough.

Pre Treatment:
Cease any nasal sprays 24 hours prior to treatment, including saline and corticosteroid sprays.
A gentle FESS nasal & sinus wash is recommended 1 hour prior to treatment to aid in medication absorption. These are available at most pharmacies.

Post-Treatment:
You will be kept flat for 10 minutes following treatment to allow time for absorption. No strenuous exercise or blowing of the nose for 4 hours following the treatment. You may continue any anti-allergy medication following the treatment especially in the first 2 weeks while the treatment is taking affect. Ceasing these medications can occur once treatment has taken affect.

Being sweaty can hamper you from feeling confident, and although it is good for regulating your body temperature, it can be really annoying to deal with. Lucky for you, we have a solution. Botox for sweating can be used for hyperhidrosis. It’s true! With Botox, you can reduce sweating by an average 75%.

Spring is here in Australia and as the weather warms, excessive sweating occurs in different parts of the body. It can also be triggered by stress. Only you know your body and the best way for us to support you, is to come in and have a private consultation at Dr Scott Allison’s specialist clinic.

Before you start any Botox for sweating treatment to minimise sweating, we recommend digesting some of our frequently asked questions. Say hello to Spring and goodbye to sweat!

How does your skin sweat glands work?

The scientific reasoning for sweating is to regulate your body’s temperature. Sweat is produced by sweat glands that exist deep in the layers of your skin. These glands exist all over your body including your palms, armpits, and soles of your feet. Sweat is made of water and salts. It’s also useful for helping with grip, by adding moisture to your palms.

Excessive sweating is known as hyperhidrosis. A condition called idiopathic hyperhidrosis is a common form of hyperhidrosis. With this medical condition, patients experience sweating continuously, no matter the weather.

Ever felt sweaty while being nervous or anxious? Excessive underarm sweating can also be a symptom of emotional stress.

Will botox help my hyperhidrosis?

When you first come in for a consultation, we take a look at your skin type and your sweating conditions. We then measure and plan out a procedure that will help reduce your sweating by up to 75%.

Botox for sweating don’t take long and can be done in one visit.

Once you come in for the procedure, we use injectables to place the botox beneath the skin. The injections are done in a grid pattern to ensure uniformity. Before the injections are done, we’ll use a topical numbing agent to soothe any discomfort that may occur with the procedure.

Before your Botox injections, we ask you to not take any medications that cause blood thinning. Since Botox may cause some bruising and swelling, if you take medications like aspirin, this bruising may get worse. We’ll of course advise you on the do’s and don’ts before your procedure.

How long do the results of botox for hyperhidrosis last?

Botox as treatment for hyperhidrosis lasts for approximately five months. Sometimes even longer! You might have 99 problems, but excessive sweating definitely won’t be one.

Aftercare for botox

Like all other cosmetic procedures, we recommend staying away from exercise for at least 24 hours. Having good aftercare can truly maximise the results of your treatments. It is good to relax as much as you can and maintain a normal heart rate. Avoid touching or applying any physical pressure to the injected area.

Physical activity increases blood flow throughout your body. This also can increase your chances of having toxins reach areas that have just been injected, reducing the effectiveness of your procedure. We recommend rest and relaxation after your procedure.

Benefits of Botox for Sweating

  • Control your sweating with ease
  • Minimally invasive and non-surgical treatment
  • Very little aftercare
  • Results last for months
  • No more worrying about excessive sweating
  • Remember, your body is amazing and individual to you.
What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, also known as the Vampire Facial (made famous by Kim Kardasian), harnesses the power of your blood’s natural growth factors to accelerate skin repair and regeneration. A small sample of your blood is processed to extract the PRP, which is then applied or injected into targeted areas of your skin. This non-surgical treatment is ideal for individuals seeking natural skin rejuvenation without the need for synthetic fillers or invasive procedures.

Benefits of PRP Treatment
  • Boosts collagen production for firmer, plumper skin.
  • Improves skin tone and texture, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Minimises acne scars and pigmentation, promoting even skin tone.
  • Enhances under-eye rejuvenation, reducing dark circles and puffiness.
  • Accelerates skin healing, making it a great post-procedure treatment.

While PRP facials may look dramatic during the procedure, the results speak for themselves.

We can also micro inject remaining vials of PRP directly into the skin, particularly hands and under eyes for further rejuvenation for additional $100
